CLAM MEAT PROCESSING
Clams are shellfish found in the brackish waters. Many of the inhabitants of Kumbalangy find clam meat processing for their livelihood. Usually the entire Family members are taking part in this job. Men collect the clam fish from back water. Ladies steam the clamshell to seperate the meat from the shell.
COIR MAKING
Here coir is made in the traditional way in which ripe coconut husks are soaked in water. We furnish our guest to see defibering,and you will get oppertunity to see Loom the only equipment used in traditional coir making with village woman.
COCONUT LEAVES WEAVING
Coconut leaves are weaved by village women and watching them doing it with great expertise in a very relaxed ,cool and jovial manner is really interesting. Weaved coconut leaves are used for thatching the roof and for fencing .
KARIMEEN POLLICHATH
Karimeen Pollichathu (Pearl spot )is one such traditional food in kerala.One more layer of spicy masala is spread on top of fish and the banana leaf is folded into a packet. Tied with a string, these fish packets are cooked in a kadai in slow heat.
PRAWNS ULARTHIYATH
Prawn roast is a spicy seafood which is popular among the village of kumbalangy .Fresh prawns fried crisp in coconut oil, with the aroma of mustard seeds, curry leaves, turmeric and chillies. The speciality of Kerala seafood cuisine that explore through the unique combination of spices .
